| Sierra Mist was planning on launching a new spin on their beverages by offering just a little more lemon than lime. They called it Sierra Mist Lemon Squeeze and it would only be in the market during the summer months. We were given a url, XSqeezeMe.com, and were engaged to come up with a promotion around it. The idea was to get the most out of your summer, and staying out of a tight spot, or a squeeze would help you do just that. The microsite we created had all kinds of videos, mobile ideas and fun things to print. One of the ideas actually allowed the user to create and print out his or her own speeding ticket to prove to their boss that they were trying to get to work on time, but were stopped by the fuzz. “The Save,” was a mobile idea that allowed the user to type in their phone number, select from a variety of excuses and what time they wished to be called. Someone could be talking your ear off, delaying you from hitting the beach and suddenly your cell phone rings. “I’m so sorry, but my grandmother just passed away and I need to run.” Hero Mail, played by Keegan-Michael Key, was by far my favorite part of the project. How could your boss complain about your absence when you have just saved someone? There was a viral component to it that (once your head was uploaded) would stream your personal Hero Mail video to a site that looked like a legit news site for the boss to see. There were also a couple of simple pieces that allowed the user to download audio of a complete BS conference call going on and then another with someone hacking and coughing his guts up. Who wants to get sick or interrupt a conference call? |
