kids can learn something new everyday.
Or every year for that matter.

about this project
Leapfrog makes excellent learning toys like the LeapPad and the TurboTwist lines. It started off with a guy that wanted to help his kid learn how to read, which led to the invention of the LeapPad. Their approach to making learning toys is very different than that of its competitors. Most companies start with a fun toy which is questionably fun to begin with, and then figure out a way to squeeze some learning into it. Leapfrog thinks 180 degrees from that. They have teachers and experts in child brain development figure out what children need the most, and make it fun and engaging to learn those things. The product they came out with at this time was called the MindStation, which wasn’t named or branded until we got a hold of it. The toy created a way to extend the learning life of existing LeapFrog toys by allowing new books, spelling, math and geography games to be downloaded into cartridges that would be inserted into a LeapPad. This would allow the child to learn as much as they wanted, and as often as they wanted, without having to go to the store. Well before Xbox, PC gaming consoles and Playstation had anything downloadable, it was pretty cutting edge technology at the time. The first two ads illustrate where a child begins learning, and where that learning can take them as they grow up. I think the LeapPad ad at the bottom does a good job showing how LeapFrog can help a child love to learn new things.
